Songbird Care and Education Center (SCEC)

SCEC is a non-profit California Corporation dedicated to the Care and Rehabilitation of sick, orphaned and injured Songbirds.

Vicki Andersen and her volunteers base the Centers operations in a home environment which is conducive to consistent care and monitoring of these delicate creatures.
Annually, over 400 birds are treated and cared for before being released back into a suitable habitat.  The latest and most up to date information about songbird rehabilitation is utilized from the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association; (NWRA); International Wildlife Rehabilitators Council (IWRC) among other sources.

Operating under the auspices of all applicable Governmental: State (California) and Federal permits makes this Corporation unique and serves as an outlet for Education to the public. With this valuable rehabilitation Center located in Fountain Valley, California, we help educate the public about wildlife and in the process save many wonderful backyard birds for all to enjoy.

We are supported entirely by voluntary contributions and donations, in accordance to IRS regulations regarding 501(C)(3) charitable and educational corporations which allows us to further our work and helps defer some of the costs associated with the expense of medical supplies, services and equipment.

Your contributions and donations are truly appreciated.
